The Flapping of Angry Butterfly Wings, Oct 24

Various short remarks I posted on Bluesky.

  • Zionism is no more racism than any other nationalist movement. The whole claim is an attempt to steal the valor of the US civil rights movement.

  • As with fraud on Bluesky, without careful checking it is reasonable to assume that anyone who claims to be anti-Zionist is in fact antisemitic.

  • Americans seem to think that rising fuel prices are the worst things about losing the war with Iran. Nothing at all about what it’s going to mean to have a major regional power dominated by radical Islam or what war in the Middle East means.

  • It used to be that if the woman was married, consent to intercourse with her husband was assumed, and if she wasn’t married, she was in the wrong for participating; it wasn’t even thought of as rape. It was only sexual minorities and sex workers who had an idea of consent.

  • There’s nothing wrong with Elon Musk that being turned into a black lesbian wouldn’t cure.

  • In the old days, the answer to Ramaswamy’s conduct would be blood feud for generations.

  • We warned people and warned people and…

  • Wait a minute, they’re actually named chud?

  • He wants old people to die, but first go broke.

  • One of the reasons Republicans have been getting away with so much is that their counter attacks are invariably cruel. Dragging out candidates experiences of sexual abuse may not, probably does not, make for successful campaign advertising, but it’s traumatizing to the candidate.

  • We did not love what we built enough. PEPFAR and USAID, protecting the lives of millions. Representation and the vote given to all Americans. Sexual freedom. Civil rights for all. And so, when it came time to defend these things, we did not fight.
