• It is a huge failure of US democracy that there was no preparation for this coup; we have known it was in the offing for 25 years.
• Korea had the right idea. The best time for a countercoup is before the coup starts; the second best is immediately after the coup starts.
• It is not fitting that monarchists sit on the highest court of a democratic republic. By conceding so much to Trump, the Supreme Court has made it nearly impossible for their rulings against him to have any effect. The Roberts Court is a stain on the country.
• Disputes among Republicans and Trump supporters are like devils arguing over how best to torment souls in Hell.
