AOC tweeted, "Members of Congress have a duty to respond to the President’s explicit attack today.
Then, on Sunday, July 14, he tweets "Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came." – The Hill
Shaun King (The Intercept) tweets:
It’s 1:43AM here in NYC and I’ve been studying white supremacist message boards for 4+ hours tonight. THEY ARE BUZZING WITH EXCITEMENT over the openly bigoted attacks from Trump against 4 women of color today. I literally have not seen them this excited since Charlottesville. As AOC says, their lives are in danger.
That was a foolish move on the part of Speaker Pelosi. May it energize young voters.
Not getting your connections with Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Trump's gates... no needed to open any gates to Mr. Trump's hatred and irrationality- it was there flooding forth all along.
ReplyDeleteThe one good thing coming out of this latest Twitter Rage is that Mr. Trump's racism is once again standing naked in the cold light of day and is undeniable. "Go back where you came from" is the ancient warcry of racists and nationalists. The irony being that many of those at whom that cry is directed have deeper roots in this country than those shouting at them.
What is truly appalling is that to date, AFAIK, NOT ONE Republican has said Word One about it.
Trump noticed and took advantage of a weakness in the opposition.
ReplyDeleteYou don't attack people in your own caucus, especially if you are the leader. You keep the fights behind closed doors. And Pelosi didn't publicly slam Gottheimer and his disgusting bipartisan fascist collaborator aka"Problem Solvers" caucus. She may have had reasons to leave the "Problem Solvers" be, but it's a bad look.
oh, yes. A few Republican legislators have taken a stand, the morning after. But it's like four or five.
